Vios is the fifth stage from Thunder Force IV.

Details

This stage takes place in outer space, as the Rynex moves from Aquaria to the planet Vios. After fighting a wave of enemies the player will face the Vios carrier ship Cerberus II, the same one which appeared in the first stage. After taking down the ship's engines, the player faces a midboss before moving to the upper portion of the ship. A group of Styx will appear to give support fire during this part of the level, while the carrier will fire lasers, missiles, and homing drones from its turrets. The player eventually moves to the bottom part of the carrier before it is blown up by the level's boss alongside the Styx fighters.

At the end of the level, the Rynex will be docked in flight by the surviving Styx fighters, one of which will then install the Thunder Sword modification onto the Rynex, allowing the Rynex to use the new weapon for the rest of the game.
