Ruins Inside is the fifth (fourth in the Mega Drive ver.) side-scrolling stage from Thunder Force II and the fifth stage from Thunder Force AC/Thunder Spirits.

This level takes place inside of a large temple located at the planet (Nebula from Thunder Force II & Ellis from Thunder Force AC/Thunder Spirits). Right at the beginning the player has to defeat two midbosses, with two more being fought later on during the level. It is full of narrow paths which the player must maneuver around, as well as enemies on hard to reach spots. At one point the player will have to maneuver around a zigzagging path, with the scrolling stopping and going backwards before resuming moving forward. After the last midboss is a short high speed segment with no enemies right before the boss.
In Thunder Force AC/Thunder Spirits, the front section of Abandoned Pipe is added and reworked to fit in the theme of this stage.
