Guardian Animus (ガーディアン精神 Gādian Seishin?) is the penultimate boss from Thunder Force V. It's a digital-crystalized female body chrysalis created by the Guardian/Khaos in order to grow more powerful as Khaos absorb the energy of the RVR-02 Vambrace´s weapons.

When Khaos possesed Guardian, it developed this digital dummy using the interior of the Guardian on the Judgement Sword, so that it could absorb the energy of the RVR-02 Vambrace and evolve into a more powerful being. The more Vambrace shoots at it, the more Khaos evolves and becomes powerful.

When Khaos appears, it protects itself by creating a dummy resembling a crystallized female body as a chrysalis. Then, it summons 4 circle shields while firing laser beams, bullets and crystallized shurikens.
Once the shields are destroyed, it will create a circle of diamonds which fire 2 big fireballs as for the red diamond pair, 2 laser beams (blue or yellow) as for the blue and yellow diamond pair. By shooting at Animus, its belly begins to grow.
Once the belly is almost destroyed, Khaos' head is exposed and by shooting at Khaos/Guardian itself, the interior of Judgement Sword collapses and then engages it´s self-destruct mechanism. As the dummy is destroyed, Khaos escapes from Judgement Sword, not weakened, but instead more powerful.

- The female body chrysalis and its growing belly is a clear reference to the stages of pregnancy, implying that Khaos is using the energy of the RVR-02's weapons to grow and increase its own strength before hatching.
