Edra N. Fern (エドラ・Ｎ・ファーン) is the protagonist of the original Thunder Force and a supporting character in Thunder Force II. He was the pilot of the original Fire LEO starfighter and was responsible for the destruction of the ORN Empire's Dyradeizer fortress. However, he lost one of his legs during the battle and thus retired from the Federation forces, becoming the Captain of the Federation Troops. He was a close friend of Reid A. Jupiter's father, adopting Reid when his friend died during an ORN attack. He have also trained Diana Lynn to become a navigator.
