Deep Purple (ディープ・パープル Dīpu Pāpuru?) is the first boss from Thunder Force V. It's a robot resembling a purple bird with the ability to fight underwater.

When it appears, Deep Purple emerges from the water and attacks immediately Cenes while summoning a storm. When he's on the surface, its major attacks are firing a huge laser beam and 4 laser tracking.
After defeating its first form, Deep Purple will change to its water form and his pattern will also change. It will fire a large beam while firing missiles too. When Deep Purple is defeated, it erratically moves its destroyed wings and explodes.
